GETTING TO HAMMERHEAD
The Newark Showground is only a few minutes from the A1.

The George Stephenson Exhibition Hall offers a welcoming environment with plenty of space (3000sq metres), with natural light in which you can play games, shop for wargame goodies from a selection of top traders positioned around the perimeter of the hall.
The visitor participation games are all located in the central area of the exhibition hall. It has its own catering facilities, which will be serving a variety of reasonably priced hot and cold food throughout the day.
Access to Hammerhead via the Blue Gate which is 100m or so from the A46 roundabout, and opposite the Go-Kart centre. Public parking is on the former RAF Winthorpe Runway.
BY TRAIN
NEAREST TRAIN STATION:
Newark Castle and Newark Northgate.
Walking from Newark's train stations (Newark Castle or Newark North Gate) to the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall at the Newark Showground (NG24 2NY) is not considered practical, as it is located on the outskirts of town.
It is a long walk, typically taking over 45-60 minutes, with the showground situated off the A1. Taxis are recommended.
Alternatives: A taxi or bus is highly recommended for access from the train station.

Distance: The showground is approximately 2-3 miles from the town center stations.
BY CAR FROM NORTH
TRAVELLING SOUTH ON A1:
Take the A46/A17 exit towards Sleaford / Lincoln / Newark Showground and Air Museum.
At the first roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A46 (N).
Pass the Murco Fuel station on the left, you will need to get into the right hand lane for the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit (Right turn) towards Coddington, Showground and ‘Air Museum’, you are now in Drove Lane.
Continue along Drove Lane to the entrance of the Newark Showground which is on the right hand side.
Pass through the main entrance gates.
Once inside the showground the Gamers Lounge (Cedric Ford Pavilion) is straight ahead and the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall is to the right of the Gamers Lounge.
BY CAR FROM SOUTH
TRAVELLING NORTH ON A1:
Take the A46/A17 exit towards Newark / Lincoln / ASleaford.
At the first roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A46.
Follow the ‘Showground’ and brown signs for ‘Air Museum’. Pass the fuel station on the left, you will need to get into the right hand lane for the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit (Right turn) towards Coddington, Showground and ‘Air Museum’, you are now in Drove Lane.
Continue along Drove Lane to the entrance of the Newark Showground which is on the right hand side.
Pass through the main entrance gates.
Once inside the showground the Gamers Lounge (Cedric Ford Pavilion) is straight ahead and the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall is to the right of the Gamers Lounge.
